If you follow Kristy Woodson Harvey on social media, you know she has impeccable taste! So, of course, I was dying to see where she writes. No surprise, I’m in complete awe. — Orly

When I’m writing, it’s just my laptop and me. No outlines, no notecards, no notes. I dive in, usually at a very random place, and, as I’m writing, the story comes to life. Clean, blank spaces, just like clean, blank pages, inspire me—and a great water view doesn’t hurt either! This nook in the corner of my bedroom is usually where I write because there’s little chance of anyone else’s shoes or bills or PB&J crusts accumulating! This was originally supposed to be our beach house, so I didn’t create a dedicated office space in it, but I was completely in love with this console and the idea of using it as a writing desk. It wasn’t in the budget, but my husband surprised me with it right before our renovations were finished and we were able to move furniture in.

Because we’re living here full time now, (Hooray!) we’re beginning work on an addition that will include an office for me, but I have a feeling this little corner will always be one of my favorite writing spaces! That said, I honestly write all over the place. In the car, downstairs in a chair, at the dining room table while my son does his homework, in an airport… But, in those rare moments when I do actually get to write uninterrupted, that nook is my favorite!
