Today we celebrate Anita Hughes latest book, SANTORINI SUNSETS! Her covers are always amazing and each of her books takes the reader to a new and exciting location–you can vacation without ever leaving your comfy couch! Here’s more about the story:

Hughes-Santorini-sunsets-coverSANTORINI SUNSETS is about a young New York philanthropist who travels to the Greek Island of Santorini for her wedding to Hollywood heartthrob, Blake Crawford. Everything is great until she discovers her ex-husband, Nathaniel, hiding in the bushes. Blake sold the rights to the wedding to a gossip magazine and Nathaniel is the journalist hired to write the story.

Anita shares her Tall Poppy Q&A with us. Find out more about her gorgeous covers and what’s up next!

Talk about one thing that is making you happy right now.
The thing that is making me happiest right now is summer! I live close to the beach and it is impossible to be unhappy when you can walk and see the ocean every day. And my kids are so happy just hanging out with their friends, and not worrying about homework. There is a free trolley service in Laguna Beach all summer, so they are completely independent. I couldn’t wish for a better summer for them.

Share something that’s always guaranteed to make you laugh.
One thing that always makes me laugh are PEANUTS comic strips. When I was young I had over fifty PEANUTS books. I can still recite many of the comics and Snoopy’s DARK AND STORMY NIGHT inspired me to be a writer.

What’s your next big thing?
My next big thing is CHRISTMAS IN PARIS, which comes out on October 4th. It is my first holiday book and I am so excited about it. Besides having Christmas and Paris (two things I adore) it has a very special character that I just fell in love with. I can’t wait for people to read it.

Talk about your book’s cover and/or title.
I am so fortunate to have really gorgeous covers. Whenever I get a new cover, it always transports me right to the location. When I saw the cover for SANTORINI SUNSETS, I knew immediately it was perfect. The colors in Santorini are so vibrant and I think the designer captured them beautifully.

What are you reading right now?
There are so many wonderful books out this summer. I adored Stephanie Danler’s SWEETBITTER, it had really exceptional writing. And I am loving FALLING by Jane Green, she has always been one of my favorites. I also enjoyed THE GIRLS by Emma Cline and A CERTAIN AGE by Beatriz Williams. It’s a great season for books!
