Today’s Wine Wednesday comes from Tall Poppy Kelly Simmons on RWD (Reading While Drinking).
Book features woman with drinking problem who loves movies, so am sipping Francis Ford Coppola’s Director’s Cut “Cinema”, a zinfandel blend, while reading it. Trying to decide if drinking while reading about drinking problems makes me as troubled as woman in book.
No, woman in book is seeing things. I am not hallucinating as have only consumed half glass. Wine is far too interesting & complex to gulp like mom at cul-de-sac party planning to crawl home. No. I am a sipper, and woman in book is cray-cray, not me. Whew.
New book will be lighter; I know this because cover is pastel and lead character has quirky name. Decide to pair with Roxane, a white varietal from FFC’s Storytellers Series.
Book makes me twitch. Crosses line from quirky to silly to impossible to believe. I stop reading, but continue drinking. Second glass confirms wine is wayyyyyyy too good for book. Must seek out alternative tome.
I re-read Bridget Jones Diary, which goes with anything, but makes me wonder if I should weigh myself. Decide not to.
P.S. Can you guess what I was reading? I’ll never tell. . . .
